Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Dermafocal, subscriptions, and data governance.

General & Clinical

Is Dermafocal a registered Medical Device?

Yes. Dermafocal is registered with the MHRA as a Class I Medical Device (UKCA Marked). We maintain a full Clinical Safety Case Report (DCB0129) and Hazard Log to ensure patient safety.

Is this app only for Dermatologists?

While designed for Skin Oncology Specialists, it is widely used by Plastic Surgeons, GPs with a special interest in Dermatology (GPwSI), and Clinical Nurse Specialists. However, it is a professional tool and assumes clinical knowledge.

Data & Security

Where are patient photos stored?

Dermafocal uses a "Local-First" architecture. Photos taken with Derma Capture are stored in an encrypted container on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers. You remain the Data Controller.

Does it comply with NHS Governance?

Yes. Because data does not leave your control, it simplifies Information Governance (IG) approval. We recommend transferring images to your hospital's EHR system and deleting them from the device periodically.

Subscriptions & Billing

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed directly by Apple. Go to your iPhone Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions to manage or cancel. We do not have access to your billing details.

Can my NHS Trust pay for this?

Yes. We support Volume Purchase Program (VPP) via Apple Business Manager. Please have your IT Procurement team contact us at support@dermafocal.com.
